A transferred game account can remain accessible from devices and email accounts controlled by someone else, even after a new person receives the login details. That creates an immediate security problem. An old session, recovery method, or linked email can potentially provide another route back into the account. Supercell Support specifically warns that a previous user may continue accessing an account after it has changed hands. It also states that buying, selling, sharing, or giving away accounts violates its Terms of Service.

For players researching secondary-market listings, you can buy a CoC account here, but gaining login access and securing that access are separate issues. The practical security goal after any credential handover is to close as many old access routes as possible. That starts with the email account and continues through device sessions, the Supercell ID address, and recovery settings.

A Four-Step Guide to Securing a Transferred Game Account

The safest sequence moves from the broadest access point to the more specific ones. Email comes first because verification codes and security notices may be delivered there. Device sessions should be reviewed next. Only then does it make sense to update game-specific credentials and recovery options.

Step 1: Take Control of the Linked Email

Start with the email account connected to the game login. Change its password to one that is unique and has never been shared with the previous account holder. Review the recovery phone number, recovery email, passkeys, and other sign-in methods. Remove anything that you do not control.

If the mailbox uses Google, Google Account Help recommends reviewing the devices connected to the account and signing out of devices that are lost, unfamiliar, or no longer owned. Google also advises changing the password when another person’s device may still contain saved login credentials.

Enable two-step verification on the email account as well. A password alone can be copied or reused. A second authentication step adds another barrier. Google Account Help describes two-step verification as an additional security layer and provides recovery options such as backup codes, trusted devices, security keys, and passkeys.

Step 2: Remove Unrecognized Device Sessions

Securing the mailbox does not automatically remove every active game session. A previous owner’s phone or tablet may still have an authenticated Supercell ID session.

Supercell Support says that Supercell can send an email when a Supercell ID is used to sign in on a new device. If the device is unfamiliar, the security message can provide an option to identify it as an unrecognized device and proceed with signing the ID out of other devices.

Review these alerts carefully rather than automatically approving them. After other sessions have been removed, sign back in only from hardware you control. This creates a cleaner device history and reduces the number of active sessions that need to be monitored.

Step 3: Change the Supercell ID Email

Once the linked mailbox and device sessions are under control, update the email address attached directly to Supercell ID when the option is available.

Supercell Support says this can be done inside the game. Open Settings, choose Supercell ID, select the settings cogwheel, and choose Change Email. A verification code is sent to the existing Supercell ID email before the change can be completed. The replacement address must not already be connected to another Supercell ID.

Using an email address created specifically for the game can also make account management simpler. Avoid sharing that mailbox, and keep its recovery methods under your own control.

Step 4: Activate Account Protection

The next layer is Supercell ID Account Protection. Supercell Support explains that this feature allows identity verification through SMS and generates recovery codes that can help restore access if the linked email becomes unavailable. It can be activated through Supercell ID settings under Account Protection.

Use a phone number you expect to keep. Store the recovery codes somewhere separate from the device used for gaming. Do not send them to another player or seller. Supercell specifically warns users to share verification or recovery codes only with its support service when required.

• Keep the email password unique.
• Turn on two-factor authentication for the mailbox.
• Remove unknown email and game sessions.
• Update the Supercell ID email when available.
• Link your own recovery phone.
• Store recovery codes securely and offline where practical.

What Does the 14-Day Recovery Lock Mean?

Some third-party marketplaces describe a roughly 14-day security or recovery-phone cooldown after a new device takes over an account. igitems, for example, describes a 14-day period before certain account-protection changes settle. Other secondary-market listings make similar claims.

That timing should not be presented as an officially documented universal Supercell rule. Current public guidance from Supercell Support explains how Account Protection, recovery phones, recovery codes, and email changes work, but does not state a general 14-day recovery lock in its published instructions.

If a temporary restriction appears after changing hardware or security details, device continuity becomes important. Avoid unnecessary logins from multiple phones while security changes are pending. Keep the email account, primary device, phone number, and recovery information stable. More broadly, remember that Supercell says transferred accounts cannot be guaranteed secure and may be penalized because account transfers breach its Terms of Service. Strong security practices can reduce ordinary credential exposure, but they cannot remove that platform-level risk.
